It was a record night for spin outs and cars in the ditch: 13 cars either off the road or spun out on the highway. Well, technically one was a semi, not a car, but that doesn't really make it any better. We almost didn't make it up the entrance ramp to get onto 35W, and once we did, the car right behind us spun out and ended up sitting sideways across both lanes. Luckily, everyone was able to stop and that car got back going the right way. We still added it to our count.
The carpool agreed that it would be appropriate to stop by the wine store on the way home to pick up a bottle or two to celebrate a safe arrival home.
